You’re invited: Artfinity at MIT
To the members of the MIT community,
At MIT, we’re known for our curiosity, boldness and drive to explore the frontiers of knowledge – and one expression of that is our thriving arts culture. This semester, we’ll expand our creative frontiers with Artfinity, an Institute-wide festival featuring the work of artists from MIT and beyond.
Artfinity will kick off on February 15 at the new Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building with a program spanning classical, jazz, chamber music and traditional music of Senegal and Bali. In the following weeks, the festival will offer more than 80 free events. All are open to the public, offering wonderful opportunities to enjoy the arts at MIT with family and friends.
Events will include augmented reality experiences, a film festival, a student showcase and a range of innovative performances, exhibits and installations. Artfinity will culminate on May 1 and 2 with an artist talk by designer Es Devlin, the 2025 recipient of the Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT, and a performance by Grammy-winning rapper and Visiting Scholar Lupe Fiasco.
I encourage you to check out the full array of events and explore the ones that intrigue you. Let’s celebrate creativity and community at MIT this spring – and make the time to bring a bit more art into our lives.
Sincerely,
Sally Kornbluth
President
